Whether you choose a full or partial denture, both devices are created from a flesh-colored acrylic base which fits over your gums. The upper denture is larger and includes a flat section that covers the roof of your mouth, also known as the palate. The lower denture is simply shaped like a horseshoe to create room for your tongue.

Full dentures are held in place by forming a seal with the gum, as well as a denture adhesive if necessary. Partial dentures make use of metal clasps that attach to a metal framework on your natural teeth. Once you’ve adjusted to wearing them, eating and speaking will be far easier than before. If you are interested in restoring your smile to the fullest extent, fitting dentures with dental implants may be recommended as well.

The Polk Dental Associates Premium Denture is made of a four layered, cross-linked acrylic and is manufactured with IvoCap standard injection system acrylics. The Premium Denture is a prosthesis that fits comfortably with a minimal number of adjustments required over time.

Immediate Dentures

Polk Dental Associates offers Immediate Dentures which are designed to be immediately placed after teeth are removed. Immediate Dentures help compress the underlying tissue, aiding in the healing process. These prostheses are fabricated prior to extractions. Most often a new denture will be fabricated after healing.

Partial Dentures

If you only have a few problem teeth, Polk Dental Associates designs partial dentures that can replace a few teeth at a time.

Snap-On Dentures

Snap-On Dentures from Polk Dental Associates are custom crafted prostheses that do just that - snap on! Small titanium posts are placed in your jaw where teeth are missing. These posts serve as the studs that snap into the Snap-On Denture. Because the titanium of the posts naturally bonds with the jaw, a strong foundation is formed to strategically secure the dentures as they snap into place.

One of the biggest advantages of Snap-On prostheses is that they do not cover the roof of your mouth, making them feel like your natural teeth. Snap-On Dentures do not slip and slide; they do not rub or require extra adhesives. They stay firmly in place, allowing you to enjoy life to the fullest without worry or distraction.
